RED DEER, Alta. - Health-care workers set up information pickets in communities across Alberta to back calls for a new contract.

Members of the Health Sciences Association of Alberta say they want to see negotiations with Alberta Health Services resume after they broke off last week.

Association central zone chair Sandi Hayes said Thursday that workers feel stranded.

Alberta Health Services spokeswoman Colleen Turner says the organization is very much open to continuing negotiations.

The association says the main issues are the ability to book time off in lieu of overtime, flexibility in shift scheduling and the ability to book holidays when wanted.
