A B.C. brewery has created a new beer in honour of a well-known search and rescue pioneer.
All proceeds from the Tim Jones Shredder Golden Ale, made by Deep Cove Breweries, will go to the Tim Jones Legacy Fund, states a press release.
The fund was created in honour of Jones, who died suddenly on Mount Seymour in January, and supports North Shore Rescue, the volunteer group he led for years.
"The Shredder Golden Ale was designed to be a beer Tim would have enjoyed with his family, friends and husky after a call well done," states the release.
Jones earned the nickname "Shredder" for his love of backcountry skiing as well as his "shredding" motivational strategies used to inspire his North Shore Rescue team. He participated in over 1,400 rescue missions.
The Tim Jones Shredder Golden Ale will be launched on Nov. 15.
