Peel police are asking the public for help in locating a vehicle after a teen was seriously injured in a hit-and-run Sunday morning.

According to police, a 17-year-old male was struck near 1820 Dundas St. East, in Mississauga, at around 2:40 a.m. He was found in a nearby parking lot by police and eventually airlifted to a trauma centre in Toronto.

The victim is in stable condition and is expected to survive, police said.

Investigators said it’s believed the teen was hit by a driver in a newer model BMW 3 Series, and that the incident may have followed a “disturbance” inside the address shortly before he was hit.

The driver, who is described by police as male, short in stature, 25-35 years old with dark skin, short curly black hair and with a thin build, then fled eastbound on Dundas Street.

Police are asking members of the public with any potentially valuable information to contact them.
