Stana Katic Co-Hosts The Environmental Media Association Awards With Ed Begley Jr.

Stana Katic Wows As Environmental Awards Co-Host

Going green has never looked this good.

Stana Katic co-hosted the 24th annual Environmental Media Association Awards with Ed Begley Jr. on Saturday night in Los Angeles, at an event created to honour sustainable efforts and green initiatives in Hollywood.

Begley Jr. arrived at the awards ceremony fashionably late, then asked a valet to park his bike as part of the night's opening monologue. He then joked about his legs being tired, before turning to Katic and saying, "her legs are killing me too." Naturally, the line played well with the eco-conscious crowd. According to Variety, she followed by saying "very few Hollywood marriages last 25 years," a joke about the award show's tenure that got an even bigger laugh.

The "Castle" star, who hails from Hamilton, Ont., stood out in a fuschia-and-black Roksanda Ilincic crepe jumpsuit, complete with an asymmetric midriff cutout and knot detail. She paired her ensemble with classic black YSL sandals, and also brought her sister Gigi as her plus one for the big night.

The 36-year-old actress told E! she landed the coveted gig through her work with her own non-profit, the Alternative Travel Project (ATP), which encourages commuters to go car free.

"I was used to public transit systems in Toronto, Chicago and other parts of Europe," she said, in an interview with E!. Best known for her role as Detective Kate Beckett on "Castle," the actress also took particular pride in her show's recent adoption of on-set recycling practices.

But Katic was not the only Canadian on-hand for the night's environmental festivities. "Revenge" stars Emily VanCamp and Karine Vanasse also attended, as did "The Comeback"'s Malin Akerman.
