Police are looking for the driver of a black four-door Acura they allege assaulted a parking enforcement officer in the Moore Park area on Saturday.

At around 9:25 a.m., police say a man in an Acura MDX or RDX, with the partial licence plate "BAXS", told an on-duty parking enforcement officer to leave the area. Moore Park is west of the Leaside neighbourhood, just north of St. Clair Avenue East and Mount Pleasant Road.

The parking enforcement officer was warned her presence was "not liked in the neighbourhood."

Police then say "a neighbourhood man" drove so close to the officer that the vehicle's side mirror hit her. The man then drove away down nearby Clifton Avenue. Police are calling it a fail-to-remain, personal injury collision.

The man in the car was accompanied by a child, estimated to be 10 to 12 years old.

The parking enforcement officer sustained minor injuries.

The suspect is described as a white male, who is 5'9"-5'10". He was wearing a blue sweatshirt and jogging pants.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-5300. Information can also be passed on anonymously through Crime Stoppers (416-222-8477),
