The two companies announced a deal on Monday to make a six-part dramatic series, called Between.
The series — which tells the story of a mysterious disease that wipes out everyone in a town except those under age 21 — will air on Rogers, on the City channel, in Canada at first release, and on the Rogers streaming service shomi at the same time. Netflix will get the rights to air the series everywhere outside Canada, and will be able to include the show in its Canadian streaming catalogue a year after the first episode airs on TV.
More information on timing and broadcast dates weren't included in the release Monday, but the companies say those details are coming soon.
The show was created by Toronto screenwriter and director Michael McGowan, and will be shot in various locations around Ontario.
It marks the first time the two content companies have teamed up on a production.Suggest a correction
