Driver Who Crashed Into Abbotsford A&W Appeared Drunk: Police

ABBOTSFORD, B.C. - Police say a man is in custody after a Jeep smashed into an A&W restaurant near Vancouver.

UPDATE, Oct. 27: Emerson Bondar has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, refusing to provide a breath sample, drive while prohibited, and failure to comply with a probation order, according to a Abbotsford Police Department news release.

Abbotsford police say the restaurant was relatively empty at the time and only minor injuries were reported.

A news release says police were called Sunday morning about an erratic driver in Abbotsford.

Shortly after, police received another caller who reported that a Jeep had crashed into an A&W restaurant.

The news release says the driver appeared intoxicated.

A 31-year-old man has been detained as police investigate possible impaired driving charges.
