Man Tries To Sneak Into Vancouver Concert, Gets Stuck In Vent

Halloween Concert Crasher Gets Stuck In Vent

A man who reportedly tried to sneak into a downtown Vancouver concert had to be rescued early Saturday morning after getting stuck in the building’s vent.

The crasher was persistent in his efforts to get access to Dooms Night 2014, an electronic dance music concert at the Pacific Coliseum on the PNE grounds. He first tried to make his way into the show earlier in the evening through a fire escape but was stopped by security, said Global News.

But he decided to try again.

“He came around the other side of the building, pried a vent cover off a venting system that we have into the building and tried to enter the event through the ducting system and became stuck,” Laura Ballance with the PNE told Global.

At around 2 a.m., a PNE employee heard a faint, “help me, help me,” while walking to the parking lot, according to CBC News.

The Vancouver Fire Department and BC Ambulance came to the scene to aid the man, who was not injured, reported CTV News. Police said if charges are to be laid, they would be announced Monday, according to the outlet.

“Obviously this type of thing is a very unfortunate incident on what was a really good night," Ballance told News 1130. "But individuals sometimes make poor choices and I certainly think this was an example of that."
