Police in Surrey, B.C., are searching for the driver of a car that struck two pedestrians Sunday night in a marked crosswalk, then drove away.

The incident happened around 9 p.m. PT when the vehicle, which was travelling northbound on 130 Street, turned east onto 72 Avenue and struck the pair before driving off.

The victims, a male and female in their mid 20s, were rushed to hospital where they were treated for several fractures that were not life-threatening.

Investigators are looking for a white or light-coloured car, possibly a Mazda, with front-end damage.
