SASKATOON - A judge has issued an arrest warrant for a man accused of threatening Saskatoon's mayor.

Garrett Phillip Hillmer, who is 53, didn't show up for his first court appearance on Tuesday.

Hillmer is charged with uttering threats against Mayor Don Atchison on Sept. 20 during a call to Saskatoon's transit customer service line.

It was the first day that transit workers were locked out by the city in a contract dispute.

Workers returned to work last week after the Saskatchewan Labour Relations Board ruled the city had no legal authority to impose the lockout.
