The city of Pointe-Claire says it’s investigating after it was made aware of a baptism held on Saturday in the Pointe-Claire public pool.

It happened during an "open swim" period, around 2:30 p.m.

“What we know is that a group came on Saturday and did a baptism in the pool,” said Marie-Pier Paquette-Séguin, spokesperson for the city.

The city has a policy against religious ceremonies happening in public. Paquette-Séguin says the city will be investigating to find out exactly what happened.
