Major storm to hit Vancouver's North Shore again

With Metro Vancouver's North Shore still cleaning up from heavy rains that caused flash flooding Monday night, Environment Canada says another major storm is on its way tonight.

The weather forecaster says a strong frontal system will bring rain to the South Coast later Wednesday becoming heavy at times, Wednesday night.

It is predicting rainfall of between 50 and 70 mm for the North Shore and Howe Sound. It's also warning localized flooding may again occur in low-lying areas.

Environment Canada says showers will replace the rain as the front weakens Thursday afternoon.

Reports of severe weather can be emailed to Environment Canada at or tweeted with the hashtag #BCStorm.
