The interview is part of a series of sit-down chats with leading mayoral candidates in Vancouver and Surrey in the lead up to the municipal elections.
On the issue of accessible transportation, Wong says the universal transit pass system will increase ridership by encouraging people who don't usually take buses and SkyTrains to try them out.
"I would love to have $30 [for] transit in my pocket so when I got downtown for a drink, go out for party, I don't have to worry about getting back home. Thirty dollars, you hop on transit and it will take you home," said Wong.
On the issue of affordable housing, Wong says she will propose a tax on property owners who do not live in or rent out their homes.
"We're going to do spot inspections and if you're caught, the fine will be heavy," said Wong.
