The Montreal Canadiens put on a truly classy ceremony to honour Guy Lapointe Saturday night. Thirty-three years after playing his last NHL game, a teary-eyed Lapointe graciously accepted the honour.

The defenceman was a part of the Habs legendary Big Three, and his number will now hang from the rafters of the Bell Centre with teammates Serge Savard's No.18 and Larry Robinson's No.19. The 66-year-old helped the Habs to six Stanley Cup victories in the 1970s.

Guy "Pointu" Lapointe is only the 18th player to have his jersey retired by the Canadiens.
