Injured KHL player throws stick at referee

As seen in the above video, Lukas Kaspar of Khanty-Mansiysk Yugra employed a desperate tactic to gain the attention of the referee in a recent KHL game.

After blocking a shot, the San Jose Sharks' first-round pick in 2004 falls to the ice in pain. As the play drags on and Kaspar continues to struggle, he decides to throw his stick directly at the man in the striped sweater.

Why the official didn't stop the play sooner is anyone's guess, but Kaspar saw the need to take matters into his own hands.

The 29-year-old was given a game misconduct for his actions.

Kaspar has recorded two goals and two assists in 16 career NHL games.
