WHL Roundup: Reinhart scores twice in return from NHL as Ice beat Oil Kings

CRANBROOK, B.C. - Sam Reinhart returned to junior with something to prove.

The 19 year old scored twice in his first game back from the Buffalo Sabres to lead the Kootenay Ice past the Edmonton Oil Kings 4-3 in Western Hockey League play on Friday.

Austin Vetterl and Tim Bozon also found the back of the net for the Ice (5-13-0).

Aaron Irving and Lane Bauer responded for Edmonton (9-8-2).

Wyatt Hoflin made 19 saves for the win while Tristan Jarry turned away 35 shots in the loss.

Kootenay went 2 for 7 on the power play while the Oil Kings converted once on three chances.

TIGERS 4 WARRIORS 3 (OT)

MOOSE JAW, Sask. — Ty Stanton scored 4:20 into overtime as Medicine Hat edged the Warriors.

Tommy Vannelli, Chad Butcher and Cole Sanford rounded out the Tigers' (13-3-1) attack.

Jack Rodewald struck twice for Moose Jaw (7-9-2) with Spenser Jensen picking up the other goal.

PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. — Ryan Gropp had a goal and two assists for Seattle as it downed the Raiders.

Kaden Elder, Lane Pederson, Alexander True, Ethan Bear and Keegan Kolesar supplied the offence for the Thunderbirds (8-6-3).

Sawyer Lange and Jayden Hart responded for Prince Albert (8-11-0).

BRANDON, Man. — Peter and John Quenneville both had a first-period goal as the Wheat Kings topped Saskatoon.

Amil Krupic and Brett Stovin replied for the Blades (5-13-0).

LETHBRIDGE, Alta. — Colby Cave had a hat trick, including the overtime winner, as Swift Current rallied to beat the Hurricanes.
