Prince William and Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, are officially booked for a pre-Christmas trip to New York in December.
As confirmed by Clarence House today, the couple will be travelling to the U.S. between Dec. 7 and 9, with a packed schedule for the three-day visit. Kate, who will be around four months pregnant at the time, will remain in New York City, while William will take a day trip to Washington D.C.
Despite rumours to the contrary, it appears Prince George will not be joining them on the trip.
The purpose of the visit is for promotion of the couple's charitable efforts, specifically sustainability with a focus on preventing illegal wildlife trade, as well as helping young people with both mental health and poverty issues.
William's meetings in D.C. will include time with the World Bank to talk about developing a zero tolerance policy for taking wildlife across borders illegally, as well as fighting against ivory trade. Kate, meanwhile, will visit a local child development centre with The First Lady of New York City, Chirlane McCray.
But of course, there will be some fun in there too. While William is in D.C., Kate will be attending a luncheon thrown by the British Consul General in New York. Among other events, the pair are scheduled to attend a gala celebrating the 600th anniversary of University of St Andrews (which just happens to be where they originally met). Apparently, there could be appearances on some morning talk shows as well — after all, both Kate's brother and sister have recently done the rounds.
And let's be honest — we're thinking Kate will probably get some shopping in there too.
The royal couple will also be hitting up an NBA game, specifically the Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Brooklyn Nets on the 8, where we can only hope they'll be sitting courts side with Jay-Z and Beyonce, a.ka. the U.S.'s very own royal family. Let the photo ops begin!
