Man hit in face after being accused of stealing towel, police say

A Barrie man was allegedly punched in the face by a man in his rooming house who accused him of stealing a towel, police say.

The alleged incident occurred at 9:20 p.m. Saturday when the victim was lying on his bed and watching television, police say.

Police say the accused male came into that man's room and "began screaming at the victim" over the towel allegation.

It is alleged that the accused then punched the man in the face and continued to swing at him several more times.

Police say the accused man took a towel from the victim and went to his own room.

The 25-year-old accused has since been charged with assault and with breaking and entering.
