HINTON, Alta. - RCMP in Alberta say they are looking for a person who intentionally shot a natural gas pipeline.

Mounties say the pipeline owned by Talisman Energy was hit using a high-powered rifle.

They say the crime happened sometime over the weekend about 60 kilometres north of Hinton.

Police say a large quantity of natural gas was released before safety devices stopped the leak.
