So Jian Ghomeshi was in cottage country all this time.

The ex-CBC host disappeared from public view after the news broke on Oct. 26 he was leaving the broadcaster and a string of abuse allegations against him emerged.

Now, The Toronto Star has confirmed where Ghomeshi was staying as the scandal unfolded — at a Gull Lake cottage near Minden, Ont. and at another property.

Entertainment promoter Jeffrey Latimer told the newspaper that Ghomeshi, an old friend, called him and asked for his help to get away for a few days on the same day that the ex-"Q" host posted a Facebook message saying that CBC fired him over his sex life.

Latimer told him about his Gull Lake cottage and instructed him on how to enter the house, the Star reported.

It isn't clear how long Ghomeshi stayed for, but the newspaper said he later moved on to another cottage in Ontario.

The Star also shed light on rumours that Ghomeshi planned to head to Los Angeles. It confirmed that he had a booking at the city's Sunset Marquis hotel, but it doesn't appear that he ever stayed there.

His reservation was later cancelled.

Latimer told The Toronto Sun that he wasn't aware of any allegations of sexual assault against the ex-host, saying that he received the call before his Facebook post went public.

Ghomeshi finally resurfaced Wednesday, when he appeared at Toronto's College Park Court with his lawyer Marie Henein, who said he planned to fight the allegations.

He is expected to appear in court again on Jan. 8.
