Barrie police say this was no baby bump.

Police say that a man and woman targeted products at a local electronics store this weekend and hid them under what they believe is a "fake pregnancy belly."

A news release indicates that the man entered the store at about noon on Saturday. He used a cellphone as he checked out products inside the store.

The woman entered the store next. Police allege that the man took products out of the packaging and the woman "would then stuff the unpackaged property into the side of the fake pregnancy belly."

They left the store and got into a silver Dodge Caravan.

After police were called into investigate, a decision was made to alert other stores in the area about the suspects.

Police say the suspects were spotted in Newmarket, Ont., where they visited a sister store to the business they had been at in Barrie.

It is believed that the suspects may be from Toronto. Police are still investigating.
