A man suffered serious injuries after he was apparently stabbed with a broken bottle outside a bar.

At 2:24 a.m., emergency responders were called to the Birchmount Road and Ellesmere Road area regarding a possible stabbing.

Paramedics say they found a man in his 30s who had arm and facial injuries. He also had a stab wound to his upper torso, which resulted from a broken bottle.

The man was taken to a trauma centre. Paramedics say his injuries are not life-threatening.

Toronto police Staff Sgt. Mitch Rouette told CBC News that the incident happened outside Kornerstones Bar & Grill.

He said the incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators at 416-808-4100.
