Kathryn-Mary Herbert cold case homicide update by B.C. RCMP

RCMP are announcing a significant development in a B.C. cold case involving an 11-year-old girl at a news conference in Surrey, B.C..

Kathryn-Mary Herbert disappeared 39 years ago in Abbotsford, B.C., after going to dinner at a friend's house.

Two months later, her body was found hidden under a rotting outhouse on the nearby Matsqui First Nation. 

B.C. RCMP are holding a news conference about this and another cold case. You can see CBC's live blog and live stream of the news conference right here.

In a release, the force said senior representatives from the B.C. RCMP, Abbotsford Police Department and family members of the victims would be present.
