Ray Rice Segment On 'Today' Show: Comebacks, Second Chances

WATCH: Ray Rice Talks 'Second Chances' On 'Today' Show

Since winning his appeal and removing his indefinite suspension from the NFL last week, Ray Rice did an exclusive interview with the "Today" show on Tuesday focusing on his domestic rehabilitation.

The show interviewed Rice's wife, Janay, on Monday, who spoke at length about the discomfort of the last 10 months, after footage was released showing the former Baltimore Ravens player hitting and knocking her out in an elevator. She told the network this was the only incident of violence in their relationship.

But most relevant, perhaps, was Janay's statement about what they'll tell their 2-year-old daughter when she grows up.

"[We're] gonna be honest with her," said Janay. "You know, we're gonna tell her what happened. Let her know things like this are not OK. It's not something that she should tolerate. You know, let her know that people make mistakes and it's how you learn from them."

The video above from Sports Illustrated goes through the couple's therapy, the football player's regrets for not publicly apologizing to his wife, and what it would take for a new NFL team to sign him.
