The Best Celebrity Wedding Dresses Of 2014 (PHOTOS)

LOOK: Best Celebrity Wedding Dresses Of 2014

A celebrity wedding dress is special because it refuses to go unnoticed by the masses, no matter how hard the famous bride works to keep it under wraps. (But let's face it: most celeb brides want us to see their designers gowns #jealous.)

The power of the celebrity wedding dress is massive. When Kate Middleton married Prince William in 2011, her custom Alexander McQueen gown was copied the world over by eager brides hoping to get their own princess look.

Celebs don't even have to be A-listers to get their own magazine covers when they wed. Take former reality TV star Lauren Conrad, who covered US Weekly in her bridal gown, or socialite Olivia Palermo, who covered Brides magazine wearing a designer wedding dress.

This year was full of celebrity weddings and naturally, the brides stunned us in their unique gowns. From Angelina Jolie's unusual Versace dress to Amal Alamuddin's classic Oscar de la Renta, celebs impressed us with their bridal sartorial savvy in 2014.

Tell us, which wedding dress is your favourite?

Celebrity Wedding Dresses Of 2014

Poppy Delevingne

Cara Delevingne’s big sister had two wedding gowns (natch): a demure—but stunning—Chanel Couture dress for the first low-key ceremony in London and a Bohemian-inspired Pucci gown for an epic Marrakesh reception. We can't decide which dress we like better!

Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt finally made it official and Jolie made sure her beloved children were included, even in her wedding gown design. The dress—created by Luigi Massi, master tailor at Atelier Versace—adorned the train with her children’s artwork. Needless to say, it was met with mixed reviews.

Kim Kardashian

This wasn't Kim’s first wedding gown but third time’s a charm, right? Kim’s engagement to Kanye West gave birth to months of speculation about who would design her wedding gown. In the end, Givenchy designer Ricardo Tisci created a custom form-fitting mermaid gown complete with intricate lace details and delicate long sleeves. The dress was captured in the most liked Instagram photo of 2014, making it an instant classic.

Solange Knowles

Solange Knowles legitimately wins the award for chicest hipster wedding of the century. What other celebrity bride would ride around on a bicycle in bridal attire? Beyonce's little sis wed music video director Alan Ferguson in a majestic caped gown by Humberto Leon for Kenzo. Earlier in the day, she sported a Stephane Rolland jumpsuit for a casual wedding day bike ride.

Amal Clooney née Alamuddin

Amal Clooney shocked everyone by taming eternal bachelor George Clooney once and for all. The gorgeous human rights lawyer married her actor hubby in a classic lace Oscar de la Renta gown embroidered and beaded from head to toe. Fourteen yards of Chantilly lace was sacrificed in the name of the Clooney-Alamuddin union.

Lauren Conrad

Former "The Hills" star Lauren Conrad married William Tell in a two-tone Badgley Mischka gown made of Chantilly lace. The dress featured a lace back and a ten-foot train. She's come a long way since her "Laguna Beach" days!

Olivia Palermo

New York City socialite Olivia Palermo shocked most people with her simple—but no less beautiful—bridal attire. Normally a woman of excess, Olivia wore a two-piece ensemble by Carolina Herrera: a robust tulle skirt topped off by a cream cashmere sweater. Those hoping for a more elaborate dress have nothing to fear; the former "The City" star will be having a second ceremony with husband Johannes Huebl, meaning that there will be a fashion extravaganza.

Kaley Cuoco

“The Big Bang Theory” actress got hitched to tennis pro Ryan Sweeting on New Year’s Eve in a petal pink gown by Vera Wang. The pretty dress was eventually reused in a music video for the actress’s new movie, “The Wedding Ringer.”

Lindsay Ellingson

The Victoria Secret Angel married her medical sales rep beau in a simple Sophie Theallet gown that featured a low V-neck and an asymmetrical back accented by a bow.

Jessi Cruickshank

We would be remiss if we didn’t include Canadian media darling Jessi Cruickshank who wed Evan Gatica in Los Angeles earlier this year. Cruickshank’s dress was designed by Mark Zunino and featured a full skirt and a sweetheart neckline. The most prominent features were the military inspired gold metal paillettes that adorned her shoulders.

Jessica Simpson

Jessica Simpson’s second wedding to Eric Johnson saw her walk down the aisle in custom Carolina Herrera. The strapless gold dress featured an A-line skirt and a strapless neckline with delicate embroidery woven throughout.

Ashley Tisdale

It appears that high school is a distant memory for Ashley Tisdale, who married her singer boyfriend Christopher French this year. Tisdale wore a form-fitting Monique Lhuillier gown that hugged her slim figure. She completed her bridal ensemble with a bohemian flower crown.

Katie Couric

The television anchor married her second husband John Molner in an intimate backyard ceremony. The blushing bride opted for a simple Chantilly lace halter dress by Carmen Marc Valvo.

Stacy Keibler

Stacy Keibler got over George Clooney pretty fast after meeting her tech entrepreneur husband, Jared Pobre. The pair got married in Mexico with Keibler wearing a stunning backless dress by Monique Lhuillier that exuded an easy beach wedding vibe.

Naya Rivera

Kim Kardashian’s doppelganger also got married this year to fellow actor, Ryan Dorsey. It seems as if a slew of 2014 brides gravitated towards Monique Lhuillier and Rivera was no exception. Her body-hugging custom lace gown featured a scalloped V-neck and cutout back.
