While not as big as previous protests, the anger and frustration were just as strong.
While marching through the park, Smith confronted three officers who were escorting the crowd, calling on them to speak up on the issue violence by police against the black community.
"You are not a murderer," Smith said. "You are silent, and that is the problem. Your silence is killing people."
The protests come in the wake of a grand jury decision not to indict Daniel Pantaleo, a white New York City police officer, in the death of Eric Garner, an unarmed black man. The entire incident was captured with a cellphone camera.
