Jets' Evander Kane faces hearing for hit from behind

Winnipeg Jets forward Evander Kane faces a hearing Monday with the NHL Department of Player Safety for hitting Anaheim defenceman Clayton Stoner from behind.

The play occurred late in the second period of a game on Sunday night that the Jets lost 4-3 in overtime.

Kane received a major penalty for checking from behind and a game misconduct. Stoner was not injured.

Kane, 23, is off to a slow start this season, managing only four goals and six assists in 20 games. He missed more than two weeks with a knee injury suffered in Winnipeg's season opener.
