Nova Scotia RCMP say a 27-year-old man is dead after a vehicle went over the embankment at the top of Kellys Mountain in Cape Breton on Tuesday morning.

Police say they responded just before 10 a.m. about a vehicle that had left the road at St. Anns lookoff on Highway 105.

The vehicle crashed through the guardrail and landed on its roof after plunging about 25 metres down an embankment, said police.

The 27-year-old man, who was the only person in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are trying to determine when and how the crash happened.
