Caroline Calve, Jasey Jay Anderson win snowboard medals in Italy

Two veteran Canadian snowboarders captured two medals today at the opening World Cup for parallel giant slalom in Carezza, Italy.  

Caroline Calve of Hull, Que., took the silver in the women’s event behind Marion Kreiner.

Meantime, 39-year-old Jasey Jay Anderson of Mont-Tremblant, Que., showed he can still compete with the world’s best.

The 5-time Olympian picked up a bronze in the men’s PGS.

The Canadian alpine snowboarding team travels to Montafon, Austria for a World Cup parallel slalom event Thursday.
