Jaylen Sandhu, 17, identified as victim of fatal stabbing in Surrey

Homicide investigators have identified 17-year-old Jaylen Sandhu as the victim of stabbing in Surrey, B.C., on Wednesday. 

Surrey RCMP responded to an assault in progress in the 16300 block of 88 Avenue at 2 p.m. on Dec. 18.

According to the Integrated Homicide Investigation team (IHIT), who are now leading the investigation, Sandhu was able to get away from his attacker and seek help from a nearby residence. He was then taken to a hospital, but succumbed to his injuries soon after. 

The suspect fled the scene and police say no arrests have yet been made.

IHIT will provide more information at a press conference at 5 p.m. PT.
