Michael Bublé, Luisana Lopilato Donate Dog Treats to BC SPCA

BC SPCA Gets Some Famous Helping Hands

The BC SPCA got some help from some famous hands this week when Michael Bublé and wife Luisana Lopilato made a substantial donation of dog treats to one of its programs.

Bublé and Lopilato donated a large supply of DOG for DOG treats to the SPCA-run Charlie's Food Bank, a Downtown Eastside-based program that provides free pet food and supplies for low-income animal owners.

“Charlie’s operates solely through donations and we [are] very excited and grateful for the donation of the DOG for DOG treats from Luisana and Michael,” Kim Monteith, BC SPCA animal welfare manager and coordinator of Charlie’s Food Bank, said in a news release Thursday.

“The individuals we serve are going through a difficult or transitional time in their lives. Their pets mean everything to them, and being able to give them treats at Christmas brings joy not only to the animals but to their guardians as well.”

Lopilato has long had a passion for animals in need and has sheltered thousands of them at a country house in Argentina, according to The Vancouver Sun. That's what prompted Bublé to buy an equity stake in DOG for DOG, which donates an item to a dog shelter for every one that it sells.
