Suspected drunk drivers keep police busy in Toronto, Peel

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in a several overnight crashes in Toronto.

Toronto police say that a car struck seven vehicles before stopping in the Old Weston Road and Davenport area.

Police say they believe the driver was drunk.

A separate crash in the Markham Road and Markanna Drive area also involved a suspected drunk driver.

In that case, a Lexus ended up striking a pole.

Police say that if you see a suspected drunk driver, you should call 911.

410 crash sends taxi driver to hospital

In Brampton, the OPP say that a northbound Mazda slammed into the back of a taxi on Highway 410, south of Bovaird Drive, just before 4 a.m.

The taxi driver was taken to hospital.

Police say the 24-year-old Mazda driver now faces two impaired-related charges.

The accused is from Brampton. He is due to appear in court in February.
