Even if you're not keeping track of everything you nosh on over the holidays, there's now a way to ensure you can sample every treat available while still leaving room for more. After all, the diet can always start in 2015.

But, if you're looking for a head start — and want to be a good guest who isn't afraid to try the food provided — iPhone and iPad app Calorific offers a "show-and-tell" service. The new app aims to answer "what [calories] actually look like?" with helpful photo demonstrations of notable Christmas and Hanukkah meals, and serving sizes. The company's goal is to help users employ visual cues to build healthier eating habits.
