Edward Greenspan, criminal lawyer and legal pioneer, dead at 70

Canadian criminal defence lawyer Edward Greenspan, whose high-profile clientele and impact on helping form the legal system earned him international notoriety, has died at age 70.

The Toronto lawyer's lengthy list of famous clients included Conrad Black, Garth Drabinsky, Robert Latimer, Karlheinz Schreiber and members of the NBA's Milwaukee Bucks.

Greenspan gained national exposure as host of CBC's radio series The Scales of Justice in the 1980s and the TV series in the 1990s. 

His memorial will be held at Benjamin's Park Memorial Chapel in Toronto.
