2014 was a year of strife in British Columbia, particularly with the prolonged labour dispute between the provincial government and public school teachers, and growing opposition against pipeline projects.
But the generous, kind spirit of our province also stood out this year.
From Courtney Barich who wore a grad dress out of burlap material to raise money for an orphanage, to the anonymous bus passenger who gave the shoes and socks off his feet to a fellow rider, British Columbians proved once again that they've got heart in spades.
