Longueuil Police Hand Out Free $100 Bills To Shocked Drivers

WATCH: Cop Hands Out Free Money To Stunned Drivers

For two days, Longueuil cops pulled over drivers not to write up tickets, but to hand out $100 bills instead.

Police performed the feel-good campaign on Tuesday and Wednesday. And judging by people’s reactions in the video above, the surprise holiday gift was well received by drivers.

In French, one man said he plans to send the money over to his family in Haiti.

The Longueuil police campaign follows reports of a Montreal cop performing the same $100-bills giveaway a week earlier.

“(He told me) there’s nothing to understand, Merry Christmas, treat your children,” Julien Berube explained to a QMI Agency reporter in Montreal. The man was driving his kids to school when he was pulled over by the benevolent officer.

The free-money blitz in Longueuil was made possible thanks to a $5,000 donation from two anonymous individuals.

The unknown secret Santas specifically made a request to police to give the money to those who they thought would benefit from it the most.

According to Global News, cops scouted drivers in older car models and for vehicles that looked due for new maintenance.
