Police in the Edmonton area are investigating at least four suspicious deaths, in separate incidents.

A woman was found dead in a home in southwest Edmonton on Monday evening.

In the north end, police say more than one body has been found in a home.

Edmonton police spokesman Scott Pattison said officers responded to a call at the home, near 180th Avenue and 83rd Street, around 8:30 p.m. Investigators remain at the scene.

Edmonton police Chief Rod Knecht plans to hold a news conference about the north end deaths starting at 3 p.m. MT.

RCMP are also investigating a fourth death in an industrial area near Sherwood Park.

The downtown core of Fort Saskatchewan was closed Tuesday morning for a police investigation but has since reopened. However, police tape remains around the VN Restaurant Vietnamese and Chinese Restaurant.

Windows and doors of the restaurant appear to be blown out. A Mercedes SUV parked in front has been blocked in by a police truck.

Fort Saskatchewan resident Bonnie Peet first noticed the police presence around 6 a.m.

“My whole road in front of my place was blocked off, so I knew  something was going on and then it got lighter out ...and you see police going up and down the alleys," she said.

RCMP haven't disclosed the reasons for the closure.
