Police are hunting for a man in the Birchmount Road and Finch Avenue East area after a sexual assault. Police believe he may be targeting Chinese women.

So far, police have release one incident of sexual assault that happened on Sunday, Nov. 23, at approximately 8 p.m. They say a man showed up at a 43-year-old woman's apartment building to inquire about subletting the unit.

While inside the apartment, they say the man tied up the woman and sexually assaulted her. He pulled out a gun, pointed it at the woman and robbed her. He left many hours later, according to the police report.

The suspect speaks Mandarin, say police.

The suspect is described as being of Asian descent, five feet nine inches tall with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a dark pea coat, dark-blue toque, dark-coloured scarf, blue jeans, light-brown/tan shoes or boots, and a black or grey satchel-style knapsack.

Police are only revealing the one reported incident, but say there may be more victims.
