Saskatoon fire crews were scrambling on New Year's Day after multiple small fires were set inside the Dubé Centre for Mental Health.

The calls came in at 12:49 p.m. CT.

When crews arrived at the 2nd floor of the building at 103 Hospital Dr., they found small fires had been set in three rooms and a hallway.

The fires had been extinguished by then, but smoke had to be cleared out of the 2400 wing of the building.

Patients from the affected wing were moved to a safe location inside the Dubé Centre.

Nobody was injured. The damage is estimated at around $7,000.

Fire investigators say there were nine points where fires were set.

There was no immediate word on whether anyone has been taken into custody.
