A man faces charges in connection with a violent sexual assault during which a woman was attacked in her Scarborough apartment.

Police say Min Feng Ma, 28, faces 10 charges including:

- Assault with Weapon.

The charges stem from an incident in November at an apartment building in the Birchmount Road and Finch Avenue East area.

On Sunday, Nov. 23, at approximately 8 p.m. police say a man showed up at a 43-year-old woman's apartment building to inquire about subletting the unit.

While inside the apartment, police say the man tied up the woman and sexually assaulted her. He pulled out a gun, pointed it at the woman and robbed her. He left many hours later, police say.

Images of a man captured on the building's security cameras were released by police.

The man is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.

Police believe there may be more victims and are asking anyone with information to contact them. The sex crimes unit earlier said they believed the suspect was targeting Chinese women.
