Carmen Briault Charged In Carjackings, Pepper Sprayings At Sunridge Mall

CALGARY - Charges have been laid against a 40-year-old man after several attempted carjackings at a Calgary mall.

Police say a man tried to force his way into several cars in the parking lot of Sunridge Mall before being confronted by several people.

The suspect pepper-sprayed the individuals and retreated into the mall, where he was approached by security.

He then returned to the parking lot followed by mall security and attempted to carjack another vehicle with a woman and her daughter in it.

Security officers held him until police arrived.

Carmen Lawrence Briault of Calgary has been charged with two counts each of assault with a weapon and one count of possession of a weapon or imitation for a dangerous purpose among other charges.
