Lingerie-Clad Cleaning Service, Dirty Business, Opens In Saskatoon

Cleaning houses is a Dirty Business for Emily Kempin.

The exotic dancer started what's been called Saskatoon's first lingerie-clad cleaning service about a month or two ago.

It allows people to hire cleaners who will scrub their homes from top to bottom in their underwear, two at a time.

At $200 per hour, Dirty Business' fee is higher than other cleaning services in the city (a search of other businesses turned up rates as low as $35 per hour).

But Kempin says the service has nevertheless been popular with men in their 20s or 30s, and there's a waiting list of people who want to work for her.

"It’s fun and it’s a great way to raise the price a little bit and make some money and work with some awesome females," she told The Huffington Post Canada.

Kempin said her employees are or have been exotic dancers themselves, who are looking for work that's "a little bit out of the limelight of dancing."

She ensures their safety on the job by having bodyguards stand inside the home, or outside if the cleaners feel safe.

Clients can take as many photos of them as they want while they're dusting, mopping or vacuuming, and they'll even do some playful banter or dance as they work.

But touching and sex acts are strictly prohibited.

"If they touch us, say anything inappropriate, anything that offends us, we will leave," Kempin said.

So far nothing has made her cleaners uncomfortable while they've been working, but Kempin said some people have made requests for services beyond cleaning over the phone.

"Some people think that what we do is a cover [for] an escort service," she said. "But we aren't. There are lots of escort services out there that are legal in Saskatoon."

Business was busy before the holiday season, as people hired lingerie-clad cleaners for housewarming or Christmas gifts, but January has seen activity slow down, Kempin said.

Dirty Business may be employing the first lingerie-clad cleaners in Saskatoon, but it's not the first time that a cleaning service has seen employees work in small clothing.

Last year, models wearing lingerie cleaned up some trains in Amsterdam while public transit workers were on strike.
