CALGARY - Calgary police say no charges have been laid in the fatal New Year’s Day shooting at a house party in Killarney.

But a man arrested in relation to that incident remains in custody on unrelated matters.

Police say they continue to comb through surveillance footage they have collected since the shooting, which killed 26-year-old Abdullahi Ahmed and injured six others.

The man was taken into custody Thursday night while two homes were searched by officers.

Investigators are still trying to figure out what prompted the shooting and the exact sequence of events.

They are also hoping to speak with everyone who was at the party or in the area at the time of the shooting.
