Celine Dion Delays Las Vegas Return To Help Husband's Cancer Recovery

Celine Dion Delays Las Vegas Return To Care For Husband

After announcing last August she was nixing Las Vegas shows to help husband René Angelil's cancer battle, Celine Dion looks to be keeping 2015 clear of performances.

TMZ reports that Dion will not be performing for the foreseeable future. The report adds that if she is to return to the stage at the Colosseum Caesars Palace it will not be until the end of 2015. No actual date was confirmed or announced. It was originally stated, according to CelineInVegas.com Dion's shows would be affected up to March 22, 2015.

"I want to devote every ounce of my strength and energy to my husband's healing, and to do so, it's important for me to dedicate this time to him and to our children," Dion said in an Aug. 13 statement on her official site. "I also want to apologize to all my fans everywhere, for inconveniencing them, and I thank them so much for their love and support."

Dion's husband Angelil had a cancerous tumour removed from his throat in December 2013 and is "said to be getting better and recovering slowly from the disease."

The venue's website has no dates for Dion listed in 2015 nor does her official site. Last March, the Las Vegas Sun reported the singer extended her lengthy residency in Las Vegas through to 2019.

Dion, whose husband will celebrate his 73rd birthday on Jan. 16, released her last English studio album "Loved Me Back To Life" in 2013.
