LEDUC, Alta. - A man has been charged after a woman noticed someone holding a cellphone under her change room stall at a recreation centre south of Edmonton.

Mounties say the woman was at Leduc Recreation Centre on Thursday night when she says the holder of the cellphone appeared to be recording her while she was changing.

The woman confronted the accused and alerted rec centre staff, who then notified the police of the incident.

The RCMP officer who responded noted the accused was a man dressed in woman's clothing.

Xingchen Liu of Leduc is charged with the voyeurism and disguise with intent.

He is to appear in Leduc provincial court on Thursday.

"A person has a reasonable expectation of privacy when changing," Const. Julian Celms said in a news release on Monday.

"You are responsible for any type of recording you make with a portable recording devices, and to ensure you are respecting people's privacy."
