This Is Just About The Best Curling Shot We've Ever Seen

This Is Just About The Best Curling Shot We've Ever Seen

Well, that was unconventional.

Canadian curler Mike McEwen has thrown some pretty awe-inspiring rocks over the years, but this shot during the singles round of the Continental Cup on Friday may be his best ever.

The singles round consists of a trick shots scored between zero and five points. With one rock left, McEwen was down by six. He had nothing to lose, so he decided to add a little twist to his performance.

The result? A flawlessly-thrown stone that curling enthusiasts will be talking about for years to come.

Just like they'll be talking about Canada's triumphant win over Europe at the competition. A win captured for the first time without the aid of curlers from the United States.

That's a victory every bit as sweet as this shot.
