HAPPY VALLEY-GOOSE BAY, N.L. - The town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay, N.L., has locked out its municipal workers.

The sides have been embroiled in a lengthy contract dispute.

Officials say as a result of the lockout the fire hall will continue to operate, while the town office will work reduced hours and only three days a week.

The town arena is closed as is the landfill and all public meetings have been cancelled.

Mayor Jamie Snook says it's hoped the work disruption will be short in duration.
