Cyclist hit on busy Adanac bike route

Vancouver police are investigating a serious collision on one of the city's busiest bike routes.

Around 6:30 p.m. PT a 60-year-old cyclist was riding through the intersection of Adanac Street and Clark Drive when he was hit by a small SUV.

The cyclist suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital by paramedics for treatment.

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the police investigation.

The VPD Collision Investigation Unit is investigating and said drivers could expect traffic delays as police conduct their investigation on Friday morning.

The cause of the collision has yet to be determined.
