WHITEHORSE - Yukon Premier Darrell Pasloski has shuffled and expanded his cabinet to nine ministers — the largest number in the territory's history.

Stacey Hassard has joined cabinet as the new housing minister and is also responsible for the liquor corporation and the lottery commission.

Hassard and new house leader Darius Elias represent rural residents.

Elias has taken over from Brad Cathers, who is now justice minister.

Cathers has been criticized as housing minister for failing to take action on affordable housing in Whitehorse.

Last fall, the city passed a unanimous resolution to have Pasloski oust him from the ministry. (CKRW, The Canadian Press)
