A B.C. man who keyed more than a hundred vehicles in the Lower Mainland will be spending time in jail for the vandalism.

Soo Yo Kim, 37, was sentenced to three months of jail time and three months of probation earlier this month, said a New Westminster police news release on Friday.

He was convicted of one count of mischief to property over $5,000.

Kim had been charged in November in relation to damaging 129 vehicles in New Westminster and Burnaby.

According to the Tri-Cities Now, Kim has an extensive record of keying vehicles. Police believe he was responsible for damaging more than 400 cars in Vancouver in 2008, and 600 other incidents in Coquitlam and Burnaby.

The Insurance Bureau of British Columbia (ICBC) said the vandalism has cost $650,000 in claims, while deductibles have cost vehicle owners $35,000, said the newspaper.
